It is available in PDF & HTML Format at http://www.ecoclub.com/news where you can also find an archive of select past issues. B. Guidelines for Member Announcements

1. We welcome informative contributions, in press release, third person narrative, form, up to 300 words (text & pictures) on your current ecotourism-related activities and experiences, as long as the content is informative and of genuine interest to readers, rather than a business solicitation or advertisement. The article may not include the promotion of 3rd parties, nor links to such entities. In the first instance, you should make a posting in the public Member News Section of the Forum. We will then review your post and if it is informative and of genuine interest we may include it in one of the next magazine issues. You may include up to two pictures, preferably in .jpg or .gif. Authors are responsible for obtaining the rights to any material submitted. Please contact us before uploading large pictures, as there is a limit of 30 KB.

2. Please also see our detailed Member News Forum guidelines.

3. We reserve the right to edit all Member News Submissions due to space constraints and for clarity and not to include submissions that are irrelevant to or contradict the ECOCLUB philosophy.

C. Guidelines for Articles

1. Style & Content: We seek original, academic research as well as investigative/critical journalism pieces on Tourism. Articles will be considered for publication on the understanding that the material is original, has not been - and will not be in the future - published online or in print and which is not currently under review by other publishers, or already accepted for publication elsewhere. Articles should include research findings and recommendations, as well as data and measurements, that are of practical use to Ecotourism practitioners and researchers, so that they can be put into use, rather than just abstract concepts or literature reviews. We particularly encourage articles that review in a factual manner topics such as the ecological impact of tourism activities and how it can be minimised, funding conservation through tourism, poverty-reduction through tourism, human rights in tourism, education and intercultural understanding through tourism, tourism employment conditions, appropriate and intermediate environmental technology progress and applications.

2. Length: Articles and research notes should normally be between 1,000 words and 2,500 words (not counting references), although exceptions can be made depending on the nature & topic of the article.

3. Format: articles should include a summary of 50 - 100 words, and references, in alphabetical order of the author's surname. Any footnotes should be included at the end of the document. Articles should be written in Word (.doc or .docx) or in OpenOffice Writer (.odt) format and sent as an attachment in an email. Please use a minimum of formatting. Any accompanying graphics can be submitted in most common formats, but preferably in .jpg or .gif) The author is responsible for obtaining the rights to any material submitted. Please contact us before emailing large pictures. All submissions should be clearly marked in the subject of your email: "Article for ECOCLUB, International Ecotourism Magazine".

4. Unacceptable Content: Advertisements, direct or indirect, product placements, unscientific and/or religious beliefs, libellous comments, articles endorsing violence (including violence to animals), any form of discrimination or articles that directly contradict our philosophy.

5. Editing: We reserve the right to edit all articles due to space constraints, clarity or to comply with our guidelines.

6. To proceed: Please send us a query before submitting the paper for consideration, including your brief bio, and a brief outline on how you might tackle a particular topic, key points/conclusions, and what practical information our readers might derive from your article. The acceptance of any material for publication is at the discretion of the Editor. While the Editor may encourage a contributor to submit material, or may show an interest in material, this should not be construed as acceptance for publication.

D. Benefits for Article Contributors

1. Remuneration: We will offer a complimentary 3 Year Professional Membership upon publication of the article, or the equivalent sum, currently Euros 80. In the event that the contributor is already a Member, we can either extend their Membership by 3 years, or pay the equivalent sum.

2. Publicity: If the contributor opts for the complimentary Membership, we can include their name, title, organisation name, website link and brief bio of 50 words, at the end of the article. If the contributor opts to receive the equivalent sum, we will only include their name.

3. If the contributor wishes to receive the equivalent sum, he/she must state this explicitly when submitting the article. Otherwise we will assume that they wish to receive the complimentary Membership or complimentary Membership extension.
