Rwanda Eco-tours Agency RWANDA - Turning Gorilla Poachers into Farmers Iteganyirize Association Members, one of the communities participating in the project.	La Selva Jungle Lodge ECUADOR - Pig Farm for Wildlife Protection La Selva employees creating the pig farm, that will help minimise poaching.	Carpe Diem Travel Limited CAMBODIA - Plastic Bag Recycling Microentreprise Rinsed plastic bags hanged out to dry naturally, before being turned into 'yarn' for knitting.

About the Awards:

Every year, on the 1st of July, to celebrate our founding anniversary, we fund micro-projects initiated & implemented by our Members, which improve local well-being and promote ecological change in Tourism, according to the aims of ECOCLUB. Building on the experience & successes of the past awards we hereby open our 5th Annual Awards and call for applications.

Theme: This year's theme is "Tourism Without Plastic", in line with our central 2008 campaign, and project proposals should be somehow related to this topic.

Deadline: The deadline for receiving completed applications (by email, in text or Word format) is Sunday May 25, 2008. All accepted candidate projects will be simultaneously revealed on Monday June 2, 2008.

Winners: will then be chosen democratically by Members and announced on July 1, our 9th anniversary.

Eligibility: The Awards are open to all Members who are in good standing,

Prize: The total award fund amounts to Euros 3,000 (approx. USD 4,750) This will be shared by five winners, who will receive Euros 600 each (approx. USD 950).

2008 Awards Timeline:

April 15 - May 25: Call for Proposals

June 2: Accepted project proposals will be posted online at the ECOCLUB.com Ecotourism Awards 2008 Forum.

June 2: Voting opens. Members vote by email to select 5 winners. At the same time, Members may ask questions about the proposed projects.

July 1: On the 9th anniversary of ECOCLUB, the five winners will be announced at a live online event.

September 1: Deadline for project initiation.

November 1: Deadline for project completion.

December - January: Review of supporting evidence and prize payment.
